Hey! New Jake Cruise model Tyler Andrews does some inspirational reading before shooting his solo scene. And what better way to get in the mood than with our monumental August issue of Unzipped? As you know, a lot of Jake's guys are gay-for-pay, so here's the question: Was Tyler rubbing one out to Margaret or Ricky? Watch his scene on Jake Cruise now.
This is just beyond brilliant. Thanks to the beautiful and twisted minds over at The Sword (who did this—Paul?) we now have the most amazing cartoon reenactment of an Unzipped interview, or any interview really, ever. They took some of the juiciest snippets from Margaret and Ricky's one-on-one interview (get the whole thing here), and made these animated characters act them all out. Also of note, they made Margaret black while Ricky gives the best pronunciation of the word "dildo" we've ever heard.
We love photographer Trevor O’Shana. In fact, his work was covered in one of the very first Eye Candy posts. So imagine how thrilled we were when he agreed to shoot the already infamous Margaret Cho & Ricky Sinz cover and feature. He even brought along buzz-building stylist, Brett Bailey, for good measure.
As you can tell by comparing these images of British model Harry Tucker to our current cover shoot, O’Shana is gifted with exceptional visual agility. He reminds us of a Gen X Patrick Demarchelier, which should come as no surprise: O’Shana assisted Miranda Priestly's favorite shutterbug for several years.
It feels like forever and a day since we got superstar comedian Margaret Cho to horse around with Raging Stallion Studios exclusive Ricky Sinz for our August "Hot Issue," and now the wait is finally over! The issue hits stands today! The above video was filmed during the cover shoot, and it gives you an inside glimpse into the
behind-the-scenes fun that went on that day. It's the next best thing
to being there!
What's a woman—much less a mainstream celebrity—doing on the cover of a magazine known for delivering hard cocks to your doorstep every month? Easy: We chose Margaret to be on the cover not only because of her outrageous, on-the-edge personality, but also because of her steadfast loyalty to the gay community and her no-holds-barred openness about her sexuality. During both the photo shoot and her accompanying interview with Ricky, she did not disappoint on any of these counts.
Hooking Margaret up with Ricky Sinz was a no-brainer: The GayVN Award-winning performer shares many of the same traits (both he and Margaret identify as bisexual), plus both of them have a fondness for covering their bodies with tattoos. We thought they would totally hit it off. Luckily for us, they proved us right. The shoot was photographed by celebrity and fashion photographer Trevor O'Shana, and was a total blast from start to finish.
Find out what Margaret and Ricky have to say about it after the jump.
It's here! Ricky Sinz and Margaret Cho grace the cover blow us away on the cover of Unzipped this August. Find out how to get your copy TODAY, and why this issue, dubbed the "Hot Issue," is making history, after the jump.
If there's one thing we learned at this year's GayVN Awards, it's that drama sells. How else to explain all the brouhaha surrounding Michael Lucas' showdown with Brent Corrigan? From all the copy their run-in has gotten, you'd almost forget that there had been an awards show this past weekend.
Of course, it's easy to forget an awards show that wasn't all that memorable, despite the admirable efforts of two industry giants. But with all due respect to both GayVN and NakedSword (who co-produced the event), we kind of have to agree with the audience member who was overheard exclaiming, "Forget Mason Wyler; the biggest train wreck this year is this show!"
First of all, we have to give huge thanks to special Unzipped operative Jewels for helping us out with so many photos over the weekend. The above shot, featuring Brock Armstrong and (we think?) Raging Stallion's Miguel Leonn (whoops! Sorry, that's actually Mike Dreydon, but Miguel is Mexican for "Mike," so, we were close) Raging Stallion's Mike Dreydon makes us way too excited for a Monday afternoon. Seriously, Brock does things to us that no guy should be able to do just by sticking out his tongue. Help.
We've got pictures from the ceremony and the afterparty after the jump, so click on through.
We love Margaret Cho. From her struggles with her body issues and feeling like an outsider because of her Korean-American heritage to her outrageous opinions on gay men and porn, she's become something of the ultimate fag hag—a term she famously adopted for herself as a celebration of her love for the gays in her life.
As if we didn't adore Margaret enough already, now she's gone and accepted a gig as the co-host of the upcoming GayVN Awards in San Francisco alongside Janice Dickinson and special guest Alec Mapa.
Unzipped caught up with Margaret to find out what she's got planned for the big night, who she's been fucking with a strap-on, and which porn star is her favorite.
So let's get on with the Cho, shall we? Read our exclusive interview after the jump...
Conceived and written "six weeks later than he shoulda" by gay composer Marc Shaiman and helmed by Hairspray director Adam Shankman, this anti-H8 slice of musical theater features an all-star cast, including: Margaret Cho, Andy
Richter, Maya Rudolph, John C. Reilly, Allison Janney, Kathy Najimy, Jack Black, and
Neil Patrick Harris among many others.
While we think the results of this celeb-studded collaboration is wonderful, it is a bit disturbing that the reason the H8-ers come over to our side at the end of the video is that they realize there is money to be made from gay marriage. Now that's undoubtedly true, but why can't straights just be nice and respect us because we are human beings just like them? Is there really any other reason necessary?
Although this video is great fun, it feels like, once again, we as a community are selling our fight the wrong way.
