One of the best interview experiences I have ever had was with San Francisco-based bondage master Van Darkholme, so I'm really excited to share our conversation with you.

Darkholme talked about how his love of kinky art segued into even kinkier sex play, what a bondage top thinks while he dominates another man, where to find other edgy playmates (who know what they're doing in the dungeon), as well as the past and future of kink.

"It's sort of like a car wreck—you can't look away," says Darkholme of his erotic creations. The same could be said of the man himself...I mean, seriously, look at this dude. Fucking stunning.

Unzipped at ABW

Unzipped correspondent Will West files this special wrap-up of the American Brotherhood Weekend in New Orleans.

Just back from last week's American Brotherhood Weekend in steamy New Orleans, Louisiana where a new leather family was named on Sunday. The contest was a blast, and every night was filled with eating, drinking, and other assorted big easy gay southern debauchery. A large contingent from Los Angeles was on hand to support outgoing American Leatherman 2008 Randy Carmenaty and cheer on dashing American Leatherman 2009 contestant Alex Lindsay. The winners of this year’s contest will raise money for charities like the Leather Archives and Museum and the NO/AIDS Task Force, represent their titles, and promote leather visibility outside of the leather community.

A special thanks goes out to the producers and volunteers for their hospitality. Congratulations to the winners of ABW 2009 American Leather Woman Dakota, American Leather Man Alex Lindsay, and American Leather Boy Johnny Boy.

IML weekend revisited

As we previously reported, we spent last weekend at International Mr. Leather, the largest leather party in the world, held every Memorial Day weekend in the gorgeous city of Chicago. The handsome and soft-spoken Jeffrey Payne (Mr. Texas Leather 2009) was awarded the title of International Mr. Leather 2009. He's in the above photo, 2nd from the left, along with the new International Mr. Boot Black 2009, Mc G (far right). Mr. Payne will join International Ms. Leather 2009, Lamalani (seen below with Alex Lindsay, Mr. Regiment 2009), at leather events around the world as part of his title year.

We ran all over the host hotel attending fetish events, from the Uniform Party to the Gear Blast shindig, where tons of guys—and a handful of furries!—donned their finest gear and proceeded to throw one hell of a sexy party. Take a look at the hot shots we got, after the jump.

Special Unzipped holiday weekend programming note!
