GLAAD ranks gay-friendliest networks

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, known mostly for talking about gays on teevee, has come out with its annual ranking of networks willing to put gays on teevee.

GLAAD says that HBO is #1 in being nice to gays, but the only show I watch on HBO that features a gay character is True Blood, and the gay character on that show is a drug dealer.

Networks that don't give a hoot about gays include A&E, CBS, and NBC.

According to their report, "GLAAD evaluated 4,901 hours of prime-time broadcast programming and 1,213 hours from cable, from June 2008 through May 2009."

So, to recap, the nation's most prominent gay anti-defamation organization spent 6,000 hours watching television last year, which might be very important in a parallel universe, say, 20 years ago, when people actually, you know, watched television.

BREAKING: Mason Wyler returns to his blog!

HOORAY! He's baaaaaack!

After almost a month off, Mason Wyler has returned to his blog and, as you might expect, he has a load of "desperate, slutty stories to tell" (his words, not mine). The post is full of all the Wyler charm you've come to jerk off and/or throw up in your mouth to. For starters, he reveals how he handles drunk guys who offer to fuck him in bars (hint: he fucks them), and then he goes on to give us a detailed list of who he fucked and who he tried to fuck while he was gone.

The GayVNs in hindsight

If there's one thing we learned at this year's GayVN Awards, it's that drama sells. How else to explain all the brouhaha surrounding Michael Lucas' showdown with Brent Corrigan? From all the copy their run-in has gotten, you'd almost forget that there had been an awards show this past weekend.

Of course, it's easy to forget an awards show that wasn't all that memorable, despite the admirable efforts of two industry giants. But with all due respect to both GayVN and NakedSword (who co-produced the event), we kind of have to agree with the audience member who was overheard exclaiming, "Forget Mason Wyler; the biggest train wreck this year is this show!"

Sorry, that's actually Mike Dreydon, but Miguel is Mexican for "Mike," so, we were close) Raging Stallion's Mike Dreydon makes us way too excited for a Monday afternoon. Seriously, Brock does things to us that no guy should be able to do just by sticking out his tongue. Help.

Raging Stallion's To The Last Man and Brent Corrigan sweep the GayVNs!

Here's a mini update as the awards have just concluded. There was some drama! And then, there were some awards given out, and then more awards, and more, and more, and...

The big winners of the night were Raging Stallion's epic To The Last Man (along with Lead Actor Ricky Sinz), which won Best Film, and Brent Corrigan, who took home three awards: Best Bottom, Best Pro/Am Film (Brent Corrigan's Summit), and Best Twink Film (Just The Sex).

Dean Phoenix gave a tearful, sincere acceptance speech upon receipt of his Lifetime Achievement Award, and Chi Chi LaRue sent in a taped speech for her Trailblazer Award win, as she's currently filming in Australia. Barrett Long won for Best Cum-Shot (much deserved), and ChaosMen won Best Amateur Website (also much deserved). Towards the end, Margaret Cho sang a cute song she'd written about Ricky Sinz' 9-inch cock, but we would've liked to see more of her. Alec Mapa, who opened the show, was similarly hilarious, and we could've used more of him too.

The big losers of the night were Janice Dickinson (being high on stage is a gimmick that only works for about 15 seconds), and definitely Michael Lucas, for storming the stage after an anti-child porn message. Before anyone could cut his mic or escort him offstage, Lucas ran up and shouted "shame on you" to the GayVNs for honoring Brent Corrigan, who started doing porn when he was 17. This feigned outrage from Lucas fell incredibly flat, and he was met with resounding boos. Yes, it was classless, but what else would you expect from someone who releases a movie called Farts and thinks it's "edgy"?

GayVN Weekend Night 1: Stumbling through the Castro

I survived last night! Barely. Looking at Freshmen, College Dudes 24/7, and Jet Set model Adam Campbell (above) makes things a little better though. He was at a bar called The Mix, signing DVDs and magazines and showing off his impeccable body.

Last night's tailgate parties in San Francisco's Castro were full of booze, boys, and bad photographs taken by yours truly. But hey, at least the guys still look good, which is a testament to their hotness or something.

I started off at a "blogger party" (ha, nerds) at Lime, where there was an open bar. Yeah, you can see where this is going. There were some Bel Ami models there in the beginning, as well as representatives from Next Door Studios and The Sword, but where was Mason Wyler? He was scheduled to be there, but not until later.

You'll remember that a while back, Mason promised to go bowling with us, and I had suggested that we have a gang bang instead, so I was interested in meeting him last night to see if we could meet each other halfway. Don't ask me what the middle ground is between bowling and gang bangs, but something could have been worked out. Unfortunately, I was already on to the next bar before Mason got there, but I did stick around long enough to meet a cute guy with a stain on his tie, on whom I had a secret crush on for the rest of the night.

Lady Bunny roasts the stars

While we await this weekend's festivities at the GayVNs, here's a little taste of what went down last year when host Lady Bunny ripped every porn star you've ever heard of a brand new ass hole. Judging by her jokes, it sounds like some of them needed a new one anyways.

Unzipped Advisory: We're on our way!

The GayVNs are tomorrow night, but we're on our way to San Francisco today because honestly, one night of drunken debauchery in the Castro just isn't enough, right?

Apparently, your Unzipped editors are afraid to fly, because we are all driving. The only good that will come out of this is hopefully some truck/rest stop glory hole action, but that's unlikely while traveling up Interstate 5. Seriously, have you driven through places like Salinas and Livermore? Good luck.

Anyway, we will try to be on our best behavior and report to you from the various tailgate parties, brunches, and the awards themselves, starting tonight.
