Going through comments on blogs is a lot like sifting through a fresh pile of garbage. Every once in a while you'll find something good, but it usually only takes about two minutes before you realize you're wading through an echo chamber of mindless banter typed in ALL CAPS with unnecessary punctuation, which is so annoying!!!

As you can imagine, there's been a lot of reaction to our announcement of Beau Breedlove's upcoming pictorial in Unzipped magazine. Most of it is harmless and quite flattering, but some of it deserves some closer inspection. So, in an effort to help you form your own opinion about Mr. Breedlove, we thought we'd show you what some people are saying, and why most of them are hopelessly wrong (and jealous...and vindictive...and hypocritical...and...).

Notorious former intern Beau Breedlove to appear in May Unzipped

Unzipped Media has just completed an erotic photo session with Beau Breedlove, the former intern whose affair with Portland, Ore., Mayor Sam Adams has become a national sensation.

Breedlove's erotic photos will appear in the May 2009 issue of Unzipped magazine, which hits the streets in mid April. The photos were taken by erotic experts (and regular Men and Freshmen contributors) Edendale studios. The photos will be accompanied by an exclusive interview with Breedlove.

The Advocate reports:

Beau Breedlove, the former lover of gay Portland, Ore., Mayor Sam Adams, has accepted Unzipped magazine's offer to be featured on the magazine's May cover and traveled to Los Angeles this weekend for a nude photo shoot, editors announced on Tuesday.

Breedlove's name was thrust into the spotlight in January, when Adams admitted to having an affair with the former state legislature intern. The affair allegedly took place in 2005, when Adams was a Portland city commissioner and Breedlove was just 18 years old.

Adams had previously maintained their relationship was strictly platonic.

Unzipped's website, Unzipped.net, quickly became the go-to destination for all things Breedlove when editors posted a photo gallery of pictures from Breedlove’s now deleted MySpace page. When interest in the photos took off, the magazine extended an offer for Breedlove to appear on the cover. Breedlove agreed to the offer for an undisclosed amount of money.

"Beau Breedlove was extremely professional at his first erotic photo shoot in Los Angeles this past weekend," Unzipped's online editor, Sean Carnage, told Advocate.com. "He came to L.A. to prove that the Portland scandal does not define his sexuality. The photos portray the real Beau—a confident and extremely handsome young man who is openly sensual, openly sexual, and has nothing to hide."

Beau Breedlove: Hotter on video?

I love it when the interviewer asks Beau, in his first TV interview (above), "Do you think you'll ever have a normal life again?" And Beau coyly murmurs, "Hopefully." At that moment, it's not hard to realize: This boy has never, ever intended on having a "normal life."

Breedlove also spoke with another Portland TV station, and you should definitely watch the videos. He describes meeting the mayor, their kisses, the sex... OK, boner time again.

Tonight Beau Breedlove appears on Logo. He's even agreed to take a lie-detector test—a Flyntian move which makes the lad even more cheekily endearing.

The Mayor of the American city of Portland has apologized for lying about a relationship he had in 2005 with an 18-year-old. Sam Adams, 45, will leave the Inauguration ceremonies in Washington, D.C., later today to return to the city to apologize to citizens for his dishonesty.

Both Mayor Adams and the teenager, Beau Breedlove, had lied about their relationship for 18 months before Oregon alternative weekly newspaper Williamette Week broke the story. They met in 2005 when Mr Breedlove was 17 but claimed they had a platonic friendship. At a meeting with reporters last week, the Mayor was presented with evidence of a sexual relationship, but again denied it.

Yesterday he told the Williamette Week that their relationship became sexual after Mr Breedlove turned 18 and continued for two months in the summer of 2005.

First of all: Obama, a secret Muslim, invited a gay pedophile to his Inauguration? Figures. What would Rick Warren have to say about this, hmm?

B.: These names. Sam Adams. Beau Breedlove. Why is our nation's Forefather of Gross Beer boning some kid from Hot-Twinks.com?

III: Mayor Adams actually expects us to believe that he waited until Breedlove was 18 before he fucked him? Ha! Good one.
