Hollywood ruins everything else, so why not, right?
I just read on the Internet (so it must be true) that '80s cartoon icon Jem might be gracing the big screen with her big hair and truly outrageous music.
Because really, after Scooby Doo, G.I. Joe, and Transformers, one more horrific adaptation can't hurt. Here's the gossip:
It’s still very early yet. And like a lot of projects in the early-stages, they never materialize. But I can report that [Jem] the movie is not only in development, but that at least initially, someone named John Chu (The Secret of the Magic Gourd) was attached to direct the project...Universal and Hasbro are trying to decide now whether to go ahead with the movie, or launch a new television series first. That’s still an open question, although no matter which way it goes, Peter Barsocchini is in the mix, to either produce or write the script — he scripted all four High School Musical films.
Well, fine. But this will only work if they cast the incomparable Jiz as the voice of Jem.
