Actually, Freshman of the Year Zack Randall's latest blog entry makes it seem as though they were never broken up to begin with! Go read it for yourself.
While we sincerely wish them all the best, there's a quote from Derek Rivero included in the entry that we found interesting. It's about that infamous video press release break-up that Rivero filmed. He says:
The video press release is not what it seemed at all. In fact, most of its content if not all was fabricated by external influences other than Zack and myself. Im not at the liberty to disclose too much specific information, but know that there are forces in high places involved in this fabrication and it was they who orchestrated the entire “break-up”. Careers were threatened and promises of success were made all in exchange for the public demise of our relationship.
I was told the video would only be seen by bloggers and industry people for the purpose of it advancing mainly Zack's career with a single man image.
...I did look robotic [in the video] but only because what I was saying was not the truth and it was hurtful to even pretend that what I was saying was even remotely true. If I seemed to be holding back its only because I didn’t actually agree or believe the lies I was fed and conveying. You try memorizing a speech you didn't even write while knowing it's all lies. Anyone who knows me can see that I am not being myself in that video and that I was doing something that went against everything I believe in.
Being forced to pretend to break up with someone, on video, is the worst!

Well...this is all I have to say. I worked on a set last Tuesday and brought Derek Rivero's name up. I said very little and the still photographer said "Derek Rivero? She's a compulsive liar. Everyone knows that." I seriously doubt there was some "big plot" to force the guy to read that hilarious "public stamement" mafia style! You know, "under duress." PLEASE!
