Unzipped Media, publishers of the world’s top-selling erotic men’s magazines Men, Freshmen, and Unzipped, presents the May 2009 cover of Unzipped featuring Beau Breedlove, the world's most famous openly gay political intern. The issue hits newsstands and will be available in select bookstores on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.
"The May Unzipped may be the most highly anticipated issue in the magazine's history," says David Kalmansohn, Editorial Director of Unzipped Media. "Bloggers and chat rooms have been heatedly debating the merits—or demerits—of Beau Breedlove's upcoming interview and pictorial. Should we embrace Beau as a symbol of sexual emancipation in what is still a homophobic and sexphobic society? Or do we dismiss him as just another highly beddable boy toy? Our readers can make their own call."
Breedlove became a media sensation back in January when the Oregon newspaper Willamette Weekly revealed that the newly elected mayor of Portland, Sam Adams, had covered up a romantic relationship with a young intern working for state Representative Kim Thatcher. In the aftermath, Unzipped Media's home for "sexy news," Unzipped.net, became the first website to publish photos of the partially clothed Breedlove.
The Unzipped.net posting became an immediate sensation across the Internet, prompting Unzipped Media to offer Breedlove the cover of Unzipped magazine and a nude photo session with Unzipped Media's top photographers and stylists. Breedlove accepted the offer and came to Los Angeles to bare his thoughts—among other things.
Inside the May issue of Unzipped, Breedlove opens up about his relationship with Adams and how the story broke, as well as his own sex life and the kind of men he finds most attractive.
Check back here in the coming weeks for a sneak peek at the Breedlove photo shoot, including some steamy photos not found in the print edition!

"Fresh" from his affair with Portland's Mayor? It was in 2005. How is that fresh?
Posted by: NotSoFreshFeeling | March 23, 2009 at 05:06 PM
Obviously the Mayor has good taste. Their relationship seems pretty consensual and OK to me. When he was 17 he was a grown man. I was fully sexualized and active by 14....and it was with an older man...and it was totally OK. Beau Breedlove is fucking hot! I would so hit that.

Yuk! As sleazy as the mayor :-(

What's with the sleazy headlines? They're as disgusting as Beau is unattractive. If this is the highly awaited issue. We all could have waited a bit longer.

If this is the most highly anticipated issue, then I'm glad I haven't missed anything by not reading.

Really..this the best Unzipped can do? Yawn.

Have to agree with the majority of the previous six comments. Not quite what I was expecting him to look like, but that's irrelevant. Why can't people understand that it doesn't matter if the relationship with the politico was "consensual" or not--it was still an abuse of power by a person in a position of authority: a major ethical violation. Sometimes I swear the vast majority of queers are ethically-challenged to the extreme.

want to see you.

Does Beau show it all in the Unzipped photo layout? I've heard from some people that the photos are sexy but "suggestive." Given all the hype on this issue, I hopt to see all Beau has to offer.

Halnova, you obviously know very little about the case. There was no abuse of power because (then) Commissioner Adams had no authority whatsoever over Beau Breedlove. Yes, Breedlove was an intern, but not for Sam Adams or for anyone else in Portland. Breedlove was a congressional intern in Salem, Oregon where he was in a position to meet, and pursue, the Portland City Commissioner. Feel free to act morally superior, but please know the facts before you spout off.
