The gay adult industry was shocked when word came down that twink performer Caleb Carter had been discovered dead in his San Diego apartment, apparently from suicide.
"I can't believe I am writing about him in the past tense," wrote J.C. Adams on his blog. "He sent me a picture of his new tattoo only a few days ago. I hope to God this isn’t true, that it’s just some horrible mistake or misunderstanding." Apparently not.
Carter's friend Jason Sechrest has already posted a tribute to Carter on his blog, and the news has been making its way onto most of the websites covering the industry.
More details about Carter's demise after the jump...
There aren't a lot of details yet, but evidently Carter hung himself on Friday at his San Diego home. A true twink, Carter made a name for himself in a number of films, including All World's Sex With Strangers and Mount Jack, Rascal Video's Never Been Touched, Adonis Pictures's Inn Over His Head, Young Recruits's Caleb Carter's Combat Duty Cock, and Unzipped Video's Dorm Days. Carter also caused waves on the highest-rated episode of MTV's dating show Parental Control and appeared on their reality show True Life. One of his final appearances in gay adult was in 2007's Jonathan's Load, from Fierce Dog.
"I was shocked," Chi Chi LaRue told Unzipped. "He was really good to work with—he was really good with
dialogue. Nice kid. I just remember he was a pleasure to work with.
Very professional—he was a very good sex performer. He was such a fun guy and always fun to be around and seemed extremely happy and comfortable with himself. Sometimes you never know anybody; sometimes you don't really know what people are thinking. It's sad."
