Calling all ass-tronauts: Gaylaxicon 2008, the annual international Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror convention for gays and lesbians (as presented by Lambda Sci Fi and the Gaylaxian Science Fiction Society) happens in Washington, DC this weekend (October 10-13). Festivities include an art show, autographs, a charity auction, costumes, dancing, gaming, guests, parties, readings, and panel discussions like "Paging Captain Subtext," "Pandering (the Dumbledore issue)," and "Kink in sci-fi/fantasy, or, Where is that tentacle going?"
Just for kicks, posted above is another vintage photo of Jordan Young, aka Billy Kemp, who is in the news today for being the first gay porn star to head the casting department for a major TV company (he selects contestants for American Idol, among other shows).
Jordan/Billy appeared a long time ago in a gay-laxy far, far away in Freshmen Magazine's sci-fi tribute issue (that's him painted silver).
